Students are strongly discouraged from, but may bring cell phones for use only after school, or in the case of a major catastrophe. In the event that students choose to bring cell phones to schools, La Ballona Elementary School is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items. All electronics must be turned off during school hours. These devices are a disruption to the learning environment. In case of an emergency, parents should call the school at (310) 84204334. Any cell phone that is seen, heard or used between the hours of 8:15 am and the dismissal bell at 3:00 pm will be confiscated.
1st Offence – The device will be confiscated and the student can pick up their phone the following Monday between 3:00-3:30 pm from the principal’s office.
2nd Offence – The parent/guardian of the student must pick up the device the following Monday between 3:00-3:30 pm from the principal’s office.
3rd Offence – The school will confiscate the cell phone and keep it until the end of the current semester. Please note that cell phones will ONLY be returned on Monday afternoons for first and second offences. Students, parents, or guardians who are unable to pick up devices on Monday afternoons should call Ms Fierro ((310) 842-4334 to arrange another time for pick up. The alternate pick-up time must be after the Monday of release.

POLITICA PARA USO DE TELÉFONOS CELULARES EN LA BALLONA
Se permite que los alumnostraigan sus celulares para ser usados solamente después del horario escolar o en caso de una catástrofe mayor, pero se prefiere que no los traigan. En el evento de qu un alumno elija traer el celular a la esculea, La Ballona no se responsabiliza si el celular, se pierde, se daña o si lo roban. Todos los celulares deben estar apagados durante las horas de clases. Estos artículos electrónicos son una distracción en el entorno de enseñanza. En caso de emergencia, los padres deben llamar a la escuela (310) 842-4334. Si vemos, o escuchamos o vemos que un alumno está usando el celular entre las 8:15 y el timbre de salida 3:00 será confiscado.

1ra ofensa : el celular será confiscado y el alumno puede pasar a retirar su teléfono el lunes siguiente entre las 3:00 –3:30 en la oficina de la directora.


2da ofensa: El padre/madre/tutor del alumno debe pasar a retirar el celular el lunes siguiente entre las 3:00 –3:30 en la oficina de la directora.

3ra ofensa: la escuela confiscará el celular hasta la finalización del semestre corriente. Por favor recuerde que los celulares SÓLO se entregarán los lunes a la tarde para las 1ra y 2da ofensas. Los alumnos, padre y tutores qu no puedan pasar a buscar los celulares los lunes a la tarde deben comunicarse con Ms. Fierro (310) 842-4334 para arreglar otra horario.
