Hello and Welcome to Room 1 Kindergarten and welcome to the dual immersion program. It is my fourth year in La Ballona and I am very excited. Kindergarten is a very important time in your child’s life. It is their foundation for their future in education. The first few weeks of school can be a overwhelming time for your child. Here are a few tips to help ease your child’s transition to school.
´ Parents must stay with their child until 8:45 when the teacher opens the door for the class.
´ Send a snack each day with your student. Please label their snack so it does not get confused with lunch.
´ Don’t forget to send a towel to school with your child for quiet time.
´ Please keep a bag filled with clean clothes in your child’s backpack all year.
´ Check your child’s backpack EVERYDAY. It is the parent's responsibility to do this every day. Children are not developmentally ready to remember to show their parent’s important letters or homework.
I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year working with you and your child! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. [email protected]
News:
Have you heard? We have an exciting new edition to our classroom! I wrote a grant (along with another teacher) for a SmartBoard projector/screen for our classroom. This projector/screen serves as an interactive white board and is connected to our classroom computers. This projector is an amazing tool and will greatly enhance the learning in our classroom. The grant was awarded to us by the Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF). If you would like to support future projects like this you may donate to the CCEF.
