PTA Membership
Congratulations to our class for being the first to reach 100% participation in the PTA for the 2026-27 school year! Your $9 membership goes toward assemblies, field trips, school beautification, school supplies, and teachers' grants. Thank you for your support!

Warm Fuzzy Classroom Management System
The warm fuzzy classroom management system was created to reward students for good choices and to hold students accountable for their less desirable choices. Warm fuzzy points will be recorded digitally. Students will cash in for rewards at the beginning of each month. There are four levels of rewards: 50, 100, 200, and 300. All warm fuzzy points will reset to zero at the beginning of the month to give the students a fresh start for the new month. Any warm fuzzy points not spent will be recorded for future use.
Parent Updates
Our class uses a free and safe messaging product to keep you up-to-date with what is happening in the classroom and at school. Simply accept the invitation for class updates and turn on your notifications. Then be sure to read my Monday Messages and check back regularly for captioned pictures of our learning!

LANGUAGE ARTS ~ Houghton Mifflin Harcourt California Journeys, CAFE, & Writer's Workshop
California Journeys is a balanced literacy program that incorporates interactive read-alouds / shared reading, reading mini lessons, word study, and writing.
Our class also incorporates the science of reading through lessons in phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension.
CAFE is an acronym for Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expand Vocabulary. The CAFE Menu will be used to help students grow into successful readers by teaching them specific reading strategies.
